My elder son had seen by many
psychiatrists and counselors since
his mid-teens. He had received
diagnosis from ADHD to Depressions,
Personality Disorder, OCD, Substance
Abuse and even Aspersers Syndrome
from different professionals.
He has lived the majority of his
life in HK. He spent some time in
the US and Mainland China to study;
he had adjustment & behavioral
difficulties in both places,
resulting in termination from
schools.
Since the death of his father five
years ago, the situation had gotten
worse. By then he was obese (5’6”
220 lbs), depressed and developed a
habit of Cannabis use. He didn’t
know what he wanted in life and
attended a couple of vocational
schools without much success. He had
frequent emotional outbursts &
heated arguments with me. Our
mother-son relationship had hit the
bottom. At the same time, his
relationship with his younger
brother was not good either. He then
went on a diet because of health
issues related to his weight. He was
successful in losing weight but
ended up with an eating disorder-
Bulimia Nervosa.
My son received different assessment
& treatment previously including
school social worker, educational
psychologists, counseling and
several private psychiatrists. But
all the treatment seemed to plateau
at a certain point with no further
improvement. His condition was a
mess; however, he has a high
motivation to improve himself. His
wish to make life happier for him &
his family is a strong motive for
change.
In May, 2007, I was introduced by my
good friend to Danny Moorjani, a NLP
Practitioner, to help my elder son.
I didn’t know much about NLP then
but why not? I was desperate….
Danny successfully uses a technique
to motivate him to change. In less
than a year, Danny motivated him to
shed off his Cannabis addiction and
get his Bulimia under control. Most
importantly, our relationship has
improved tremendously. I have seen
great improvement. I wouldn’t say he
is perfect now, but at least he is
on the right track. No longer a
depressed adolescent,
but a happy responsible young man. I
am beginning to see the light at the
end of the tunnel.
