BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION THERAPY is a powerful tool for those who recognize that some of their behaviors are causing them to have problems in various areas of their lives.

The behavior modification approach to therapy is quite simple: we do what works for us, and we don’t do things that don’t result in some type of “pay off,” even if that pay off is dysfunctional in some way.

For example, being chronically angry towards others may get us what we want – their attention and compliance with our
wishes. But in the long-run, we are alienating those we live and work with. Behavior modification is based upon the positive reinforcement of desired behavior and eliminating undesired behavior. It’s that simple! Through behavior modification therapy, you can make positive changes in your behavior by receiving positive reinforcement, or rewards, for appropriate behavior and receiving negative reinforcement for inappropriate behavior such as chronic anger.
